Far more complex than ‘just reading and writing', teaching language arts to students at the elementary level and beyond requires a host of critical analysis skills, a working knowledge of literary themes as they relate to history and current events, and the ability to analyze and teach the mechanics of spoke, written and aural expression and comprehension. The job does vary in scope and depth between English taught at the elementary and secondary levels; you'll find a typical job description below:

Hi there! Please read on for some important information about booking, and about how I can help you... First things first: at the moment, I am working with students who are intermediate or above. If you're a beginner, unfortunately I'm not the best teacher for you right now. If you're interested in working with me, please book a 30-minute trial class first. Also, I would love to hear about your language goals (or anything else you think I should know), so feel free to send me a message when you book. I've been teaching English since 2005, and over the years I've helped hundreds of students build, improve, strengthen, and perfect their English language skills. I emphasize: critical thinking, a positive attitude, an open mind, risk taking, and curiosity. We focus on exactly what you need for your specific goals, and I don't waste your time on things that aren't practical. Finally, I take notes for you during class so you can relax and focus on speaking! These are NOT just quick notes in the chat screen: I offer all of my students a PDF document at the end of each session, which includes errors and corrections, vocabulary, and pronunciation notes from that class.

That being said, there are still a few red flags when it comes to using technology for hire, and those are email or instant messaging. Any hiring manager or boss worth their salt is not going to conduct a job interview via instant message or email. Most often, you might be initially contacted by email, but after that, you should still have a phone or video interview—or both.

Answer: In addition to bachelor’s and advanced degrees, English teachers can earn certificates in teaching English as a second or foreign language. You’ll also be responsible for designing the curriculum and lesson plans you'll be delivering.
Consider seeking out fellow students who could use a proofreader before submitting their next paper. Keep in mind that proofreading is far less “hands-on” than editing. You would not be making extensive corrections to other students’ papers for them, but rather becoming the second set of eyes to point out errors or inconsistencies in their assignment before it goes in for official grading.

I am writing to express my thanks to you for helping my son with his math last year.  He ended the fourth grade year with a low B in math and was quite disappointed with the way the year went.  We started Growing Stars Tutoring in the fall of fifth grade year and noticed a remarkable difference in his confidence and conceptual understanding of math.  He was able to get an “A” on most of his tests through the year. His tutor was excellent and knew just what he needed. We definitely plan to continue with Growing Stars.

After 10 years of experience, salaries increase to an average of $4,500, according to BLS data.
What It Is: Transcription essentially involves you listening to audio files and typing out what you hear. Easy enough, right? Companies usually hire transcriptionists without much experience, so some job postings might only require you to have a computer and keyboard to get started. Transcription jobs can vary from transcribing a college lecture to a doctor's medical dictation, while most companies allow you to make your own schedule.

Parents typically wish to book many months of lessons upfront. Though you set your own availability and schedule, teachers with consistent availability to teach in the same time slots week to week for several months will get the most bookings. This is based on the parents’ preference for the same teacher to instruct their child for the duration of their 5 month course. If teachers continue to be available thereafter, some parents may even wish to book him or her for an additional 5 months for their child’s second course. We offer supplemental fees for repeat bookings, usually a fee of $1.00 per hour ($.50 per class) when you teach the same student each week.

I bought this book to learn how to make online courses. I learned that I should set the PowerPoint slide size to 16:9 and use a sans-serif family font. There is no comparison of what microphones or cameras to buy, just two or three pages that you should get one. A lot of advice is very vague and does not go into detail: it is like reading a magazine.

Both my sons, Josiah and Jeremiah, have been taking math tutor with Growing Stars for about three years. I can attest that they both got “A” scores with all their math classes. In fact, my oldest son enjoys his math so much that now he got admitted in Accounting at San Jose State University. What I like about Growing Stars is that it works with the school book that the student is using, and it tutors exactly where is needed, so there is not waste of time. It emphasizes in developing the understanding of the material that the tutor is working with the student. Tutors are expert in their subject, easy to understand, flexible, and kind with their students. There is not a sense of pressure. I am well pleased with Growing Stars service, and we will continue to use it.

Most states require at least a bachelor’s degree when you first seek a state certification or license. Each state will have a list of accredited institutions that are qualified to award a degree appropriate for licensing. As you look through your choice of schools, you will want to cross reference them with the State Board of Education’s approved list of schools (completing a degree program that isn’t accredited can result in disqualification for licensing).

A word of caution: Remember that where very little is required, very little is offered. These jobs don’t pay much, and they are not going to provide a reference for your resume. It may take working at several different of these online jobs to pull in the income you want. And as always, know the signs of a work-at-home scam as you sort through the opportunities.
