Hi! I am a full time biology researcher and experienced science tutor. I have been tutoring high school and college level science for 4 years. I took the new MCAT in 2016 and received a perfect score and have since been tutoring specifically for the MCAT in addition to general science. As a bench scientist, I have a unique understanding of how science is done and where our knowledge base comes from. My students find my logical research based approach both compelling and easier to follow than just memorizing from textbooks. I am a very invested tutor and committed to the unique needs and goals of my students. Through devising thoughtful s ... View Profile
Depending on the program, the age of the children you will be working with and the responsibilities may vary. Just keep in mind that the students are central and the main objective is to expose them to the English language in a fun way. The teaching and education method in schools is usually of less importance as long as the children enjoy the process and are getting exposed to the English language. Some schools will provide the necessary training upon starting your volunteer placement. If you have a way with children, you're creative and excited about inventing innovative ways to entertain them, then don't hesitate to teach English abroad because these projects are waiting for people like you!
During this harsh economic time, searching for jobs can be a very stressful experience. While companies and corporations are laying off a massive amount of individuals and smaller companies are struggling to keep their existing employees, job opportunities have declined massively to the point where people often have no other choice but to stay at home. So, this brings forth the dreaded question, what kind of options do I have during this tough time?
This guide provides teachers with strategies for helping students understand the differences between persuasive writing and evidence-based argumentation. Students become familiar with the basic components of an argument and then develop their understanding by analyzing evidence-based arguments about texts. Students then generate evidence-based arguments of texts using a variety of resources. Links to related resources and additional classroom strategies are also provided. Designed for grades 6-12.
Overall, teachers trained to teach students English concepts face varying levels of employment opportunities, which are dependent on a range of factors, such as retiring teachers leaving behind vacancies at local schools. Additionally, student populations in K-12 schools in the West and South are expected to rise, thus contributing to the need to hire more teachers to accommodate the influx. School districts situated in rural and urban areas also tend to have a higher demand to hire teachers.
This Web text and associated exercises is a continuing project. Check back often for updates. Anticipated changes in later editions include more interactive exercises, animated examples of the use of statistical packages, and inclusion of statistical packages other than SPSS/WIN. All references to statistical packages and output will be placed in separate files so they may be updated without changing the text.

Hello, and thank you for taking the time to read about me. My name is Anna-Maria Trimboli but my studnets call me Ms. T. A few years ago I left the corpoate retail world to become a science and math teacher. And during the summer I teach highschool biology. The majority of my teaching career has been spent in a behavior/ consequnce school setting. With having smaller classroom sizes I have been able to ensure that I can provide the studnents with the ... View Profile

Gain licensure to teach. Obtaining a state-issued teaching license or certificate is a requirement for accepting a teaching position at a public school. Every state has requirements that teachers must meet in order to become licensed. In New York State, a middle school English teacher must complete at least 30 semester hours of subject-specific content (such as 10 semester-long English courses) and in some states, such as California, teachers must complete at least 32 semester hours of subject-specific content.

If your child has already been approved for special education services in their school, a dedicated tutor from the company can work with both you and the school to support your student’s Individualized Education Program (IEP). It also offers tutoring designed to help children (and their parents) who are homeschooled – the tutors can either work with your current curriculum or provide you with complete lesson plans tailored to your child.
I'm only a quarter into this book but felt compelled to put it down and leave a rave review. The book is top notch. So many ebooks nowadays seem to be thrown together to make a buck by someone who you can quickly tell has no actual experience. This book is the opposite of that - it's based on lots of excellent real life experience and it's chock-a-block full of how-tos, excellent resources, advice and more. As has been mentioned, the repeated attempts to sell his courses to the reader are unnecessary - really the author makes the case for his courses without any hard sell so needn't repeat it multiple times. And the formatting of images is wonky on my Kindle with the image overlaying the text in many places. Small quibbles though given the meaty content of this book. I'm bookmarking page after page and am delighted with my purchase. Highly recommended!
Candidates are also encouraged to take the Next Step by enrolling in the Teaching Online Practicum where they will create a capstone project focusing on their lessons and skills learned throughout the entire Teaching Online certificate program. This course will focus on students progress and practical application to current or prospective work opportunities. Students will work collaboratively with an advisor before submitting their final project. During the application process, a prospective candidate should consider a possible project or course they will build throughout the program. The project or course will allow the student to apply learned tools and demonstrate results in delivering curriculum online.
When hiring an English teacher at the elementary level, schools typically require a bachelor’s degree in elementary education. To teach at the secondary level, a bachelor’s degree in secondary education or in English with an education minor is a common requirement. Most colleges require post-baccalaureate degrees in English, like a master’s degree or PhD. Prospective teachers who intend to teach K-12 classes with non-native English speaking students may find it beneficial to earn a degree in teaching English as a second language.

Blogging is a real online job that moms, dads, students, and regular people like you and me have used to make money on a part-time schedule working online. As long as you are not desperate for money now, you enjoy writing and helping others, and you know how to stick to a task for a while before making money, then blogging might be a good fit for you. It usually takes at least 6-18 months to start making money from a blog.
Hi, Lisa! I’m sorry to hear that you were not finding jobs that matched with your skills and flexibility preferences. We do list entry level to an executive level position on our site, but it is up the employer to determine what qualifications they will accept. I have issued a refund to your account, per our Satisfaction Guarantee and certainly wish you the best in your job search! All the best to you.
I've made a list of online jobs that pay weekly, daily, or multiple times a week. There are a lot of work at home opportunities that only pay monthly or twice a month, and getting paid that infrequently may not do much to help with immediate financial needs. Please know that this list isn't done and I plan to add to it continuously as I find things that meet this criteria.
All professors have office hours, and online instructors are no exception. Make sure you know how to help students reach you. Hosting a Google Hangout at the same time every week? Scheduling phone calls as needed? Staying after class with students who have questions? Find out if your program has a policy, or if it’s OK for you to develop your own system for student check-ins.

Using the knowledge and skills gained through my education I have had the opportunity to do research at the VA Hospital on prostate cancer, present at and attend symposiums, and participate in the research and design of signaling protein antibody markers, to name a few things. I have a passion for the sciences and truly enjoy sharing that passion and helping others understand the world around them. I...
Now selling textbooks for fellow students is another story. You can easily make some extra money from each textbook sold (you set a percentage or set fee per book). As time allows, you can even scout online book prices and buy/sell during the prime textbook season (before the start of each new semester). You don’t have to limit yourself to locally supplied textbooks in this case.
I have 23 years teaching all levels of Chemistry, Physics, and Environmental Science at a top High School. I have extensive experience tutoring in all these areas, as well as SAT/ACT Math and Science, and all levels of Algebra. “When I resigned as Director of the Heritage Project, I faced a choice: whether to go back into school administration or back into the classroom. The only job I ended up applying for is the teaching job I have now. I love spending my time thinking about the things that really matter by re-reading great literature daily, and it’s impossible not to love young people. Trying to show them the best ways into life — what else is there?”
Familiarizing yourself with the learning management system (LMS)  platform you’re using is the best way to make sure you’re taking advantage of all that online learning has to offer your students. Not only will you reduce mistakes and fumblings in working with the system, you’ll learn ways to save time, add variety to your lessons and get insight that’s just not possible in a traditional classroom. A few components to focus on:
With more than 1.7 billion people learning English worldwide, demand for native English-speaking teachers is so high that virtually any native English speaker (& many non-native speakers) can teach English abroad professionally with an accredited TEFL certification. In fact, even without a background in education, it's not typically a matter of whether you can get a job teaching English abroad, but which job in which country is the best fit for you. The common factor bringing our graduates together is the desire to experience new cultures and travel the world. To learn more, check out What are the Basic Requirements to Teach English Abroad?
If you enjoy writing and have great grammar skills, this one’s an easy online job for sure – all it takes is time. One of the best parts of building your online career on writing is setting your own rates and choosing what you want to write about. Or even what type of writing you want to do – you can write grant proposals, nonfiction articles, and manuals or you can ghostwrite books or blog posts. You can even get creative and write fiction or start your own blog.
