Hi, my name's Art, I started teaching ESL 34 years ago in Salamanca Spain, then continued part-time while also teaching Spanish as a graduate student at Johns Hopkins University where I received an M.A. in Hispanic Literature in 1988. I left another career about 7 years ago when my Venezuelan wife and I moved back to her home country, and there I also happily returned to my first career of teaching ESL. I began teaching there at the university level at the Universidad Arturo Michelena, but then realized I felt called to tutoring one student at a time. A few days ago, at the urging of the US embassy in Venezuela, my wife and I returned to the USA. The good news for students is that we have 100-122 Mega speed internet so the audio and video are of excellent quality! ---Many of my students were/are preparing for TOEFL, IELTS, Cambridge, NATO, or Trinity exams etc. so I have experience helping there. I got to module 3 of 5 with the ICAL TEFL institute based in London for certification in TEFL, but then realized that those courses are aimed primarily at classroom teaching methods, and have little relevance to one-on-one tutoring. If you want to know my qualifications, I suggest reading the comments of my students. They are the best judges of tutor quality. If you need help with exam preparation, CV editing, job interviews, pronunciation, presentations, etc. I'd be glad to help. Best of luck to you in your English studies, and remember never get discouraged. The key is hard work, and lots of patience and determination. Cheers!
ESL online teaching jobs come with a flexible schedule and can be either full-time or part-time. So, while you will usually have the freedom to set your own working schedule, it is strongly recommended that you make yourself available for online English lessons during peak times (early morning, evenings and weekends for online ESL teachers based in the United States and Canada) as much as possible in order to maximize your earning potential.
Some English teachers also teach journalism and yearbook courses, drama, public speaking, debate, and a variety of specialized writing classes that focus on magazine, fiction, early romantic, neoclassical or biographical writing. Regardless of their area of expertise, all English teachers are expected to have a firm grasp of vocabulary, grammar, sentence structure and written communication rules.

Chemistry is the study of the elements. The nuclear structure of elements is especially applicable in physical chemistry (quantum), but chemistry in a broader sense is (I think) usually more associated with the electronic structure of atoms. Energy conversions and exchange interactions between electrons within and among atoms describe chemical reactions, chemical properties, and much more.
Tutors want to teach in a way their students best understand, so it’s important that you not be passive during your sessions. If your tutor’s style isn’t working for you, speak up and say so. If certain activities make it hard for you to stay focused, let your tutor know so you can try a different format in a future lesson. Your tutor can’t make changes if you don’t voice your concerns.
Whether you’re a stay-at-home mom who hasn’t done any office work in a while or you’re 18 and just started college, you may worry the work-at-home life isn’t for you. Not because you don’t have the time or the temperament. But because you’re worried you don’t have enough experience to land a work-from-home job or, if you do, that the work won’t be easy enough to slip in around a long day with the kids or all your classes.
That doesn’t mean the job is legitimate (or the recruiter is who he claims to be). You should always do your due diligence on both the recruiter and the job. Conduct research online to see if you can find out any info on the recruiter/hiring manager to determine if they are indeed a real person. You should be able to find an online trail verifying the person, and, if not, you may want to reconsider moving forward with the job process.

While most of the companies we looked at charge a flat rate for one-hour sessions, Skooli offers four separate options: pay as you go, 5-hour packages, 10-hour packages, and 20-hour packages. The more sessions you purchase upfront, the more money you save. Skooli also has a free trial, so you can decide if it’s the right fit for you before committing to any of its programs.
