They also help your student get the right answers and develop a deep understanding of the optimum techniques and methods needed for solving problems. Plus, even when they aren’t with a tutor, the built-in tutorial videos available through our desktop/tablet tutoring app can answer your student’s questions on the spot.

Anyone who completes their formative education in the U.S. is required to study English (also referred to as Literature, Language Arts, or ELA – English Language Arts). With a few exceptions, students are required to take one or more English courses per year from first grade through their first year of college. For this reason, most Americans have come in contact with a multitude of English teachers by the time they graduate, as it is one of the primary core subjects taught at every grade level. Because of this, job prospects are steady for English teachers.
Though we have thousands of students in China eager to learn from native speakers abroad, we cannot guarantee a specific amount of hours or a particular schedule. Your likelihood of getting bookings is based on the availability you submit and the rapport you develop with students, which is important in generating and then keeping repeat bookings. Though parents may book lessons in advance for several months with one teacher, they may choose to change teachers based on their children’s learning needs and/or chemistry with their teachers.
User testing is another one of those prime easy remote jobs! All you have to do is look at a website or mobile app, complete an activity as requested or just look around, and then give your thoughts on the website or app. Sometimes, your screen will be recorded while you complete the test and speak your thoughts out loud. Other times, you may be asked to write out your brief thoughts. Either way, the only real technical requirements are to have a home computer (that you can install the screen recording software on) and high-speed Internet access or particular type of smartphone.
Postsecondary English teachers teach in lecture halls, medium-size classrooms and even online. They specialize in literature and writing and often focus on teaching tomorrow’s English teachers, who earn credentials to teach K-6, intermediate-level or high school students. College English teachers frequently serve as role models for English majors who also aspire to become teachers.

There are fewer opportunities to give feedback in an online classroom, so it's a good idea to provide feedback quickly when you can. It’s also a good idea to ask for feedback yourself on how students are doing and what they need more of, and pass that information onto course creators so that necessary changes can be made. It can be hard to anticipate just what the student experience will be like for online learners, so asking for input can go a long way in shaping great experiences for future students.

My daughter has been with Growing Stars for the last couple of years. We are very pleased with the tutors and the quality of instruction that she is receiving.  The teachers are very helpful and very much interested in the success of the student.  We also get frequent calls from our Education Manager, as well as various individuals, making sure we are satisfied with the services we are receiving.  We are always treated with utmost respect, care, and understanding, and they are always willing to work with the family to make sure all aspects of the student’s goals are met.  We highly recommend the service, especially because it’s the best education for a reasonable price, and also in the comfort of the child’s home, without having to travel to a distant location, for potentially a less positive outcome and more money.
That doesn’t mean the job is legitimate (or the recruiter is who he claims to be). You should always do your due diligence on both the recruiter and the job. Conduct research online to see if you can find out any info on the recruiter/hiring manager to determine if they are indeed a real person. You should be able to find an online trail verifying the person, and, if not, you may want to reconsider moving forward with the job process.

Place of employment has a profound effect on the salary that an English teacher earns, as jobs associated with higher education tend to pay more. However, unlike other teaching professions, top-paying employment opportunities for postsecondary English teachers are not found at colleges, universities and professional schools, but instead at junior colleges, where professors earned an annual mean wage of $69,110 compared to the $68,580 earned at colleges and universities in 2014.

Schools in developing countries generally lack resources to afford English teaching staff. This is exactly where volunteers can make a difference! Teach English abroad in schools and provide quality education! The economy of many developing countries relies on the tourism industry which in turn depends on English speaking skills. The latter is imperative for locals to be part of the industry. With better English skills, they can differentiate themselves from others, earn a better living and increase their chances in life .
...I find it to be the most interesting science because it deals with life and how living things function (my goal is to go to medical school, so I have a great deal of interest in living things). I like to incorporate real life examples as well as demonstrations into my tutoring to help students better grasp concepts, especially ones that are more abstract (for example, using the analogy of water slides to explain flow...
Princeton’s initiative in online education seeks to apply the lessons from decades of empirical research that has consistently established correlations between high student engagement and academic success. How can new online course environments and tools be used to create opportunities for heightening the interaction between faculty and their students in both online and classroom environments? What new forms of evidence do online learning tools produce that can help us study and identify effective strategies for teaching and learning?

I have an M.S. in computational organic chemistry from Oregon State University and I’m an alumnus of UMass Amherst. I’m a published author with over six years of teaching and tutoring experience. Organic chemistry is unique in the way that first principles build on each other throughout the course. I am an expert at breaking chemistry down into fundamental concepts so that students I work with can spend less time memorizing, and more time understanding. Nobody can make organic chemistry “easy” or provide a magic bullet to get you an “A” but I can equip you with the tools to make it possible. I’ve helped hundreds of students over the years. Here are a couple of nice things people have written about me:

According to the US Bureau of Labor Statistics, the average salary for middle school teachers in all subjects is $55,860 per year.1 Projections indicate that job growth for middle school teachers will be 6% between 2014 and 2024, or about as fast as average.1 Teachers at the secondary level earn an average annual salary of $57,200 and can expect a 6% job growth rate from 2014 to 2024.2 Postsecondary teachers of English earn an average annual salary of $72,470 and have job growth prospects of 13% from 2014 to 2024.3
Most states require at least a bachelor’s degree when you first seek a state certification or license. Each state will have a list of accredited institutions that are qualified to award a degree appropriate for licensing. As you look through your choice of schools, you will want to cross reference them with the State Board of Education’s approved list of schools (completing a degree program that isn’t accredited can result in disqualification for licensing).

Whether you’re a stay-at-home mom who hasn’t done any office work in a while or you’re 18 and just started college, you may worry the work-at-home life isn’t for you. Not because you don’t have the time or the temperament. But because you’re worried you don’t have enough experience to land a work-from-home job or, if you do, that the work won’t be easy enough to slip in around a long day with the kids or all your classes.

Consider seeking out fellow students who could use a proofreader before submitting their next paper. Keep in mind that proofreading is far less “hands-on” than editing. You would not be making extensive corrections to other students’ papers for them, but rather becoming the second set of eyes to point out errors or inconsistencies in their assignment before it goes in for official grading.

Now selling textbooks for fellow students is another story. You can easily make some extra money from each textbook sold (you set a percentage or set fee per book). As time allows, you can even scout online book prices and buy/sell during the prime textbook season (before the start of each new semester). You don’t have to limit yourself to locally supplied textbooks in this case.
“Robin was extremely concerned with student learning and wanted to make sure that we understood what she was going over. She also made sure to point out things that could possibly trick us so that we could pay particular attention to them. She reiterated what was said in class and worked out examples so that we could apply it to our practice problems and exam questions.” – Rachel F., UCLA
