...of Science in Biochemistry and Molecular Biology. Using the knowledge and skills gained through my education I have had the opportunity to do research at the VA Hospital on prostate cancer, present at and attend symposiums, and participate in the research and design of signaling protein antibody markers, to name a few things. I have a passion for the sciences and truly enjoy sharing that passion and helping others understand the world around them. I...
Teaching organic chemistry has been a passion of mine for the past eight years. I’m a full time independent chemistry tutor, both worldwide via Skype and locally in Western Massachusetts. In addition to helping hundreds of students all over the world, I have also helped many local students at schools like UMass, Amherst College, Smith College, Mt Holyoke, STCC, HCC, Westfield State, Bay Path, Elms College, AIC and Western New England University.
This guide provides teachers with strategies for helping students understand the differences between persuasive writing and evidence-based argumentation. Students become familiar with the basic components of an argument and then develop their understanding by analyzing evidence-based arguments about texts. Students then generate evidence-based arguments of texts using a variety of resources. Links to related resources and additional classroom strategies are also provided. Designed for grades 6-12.
That doesn’t mean the job is legitimate (or the recruiter is who he claims to be). You should always do your due diligence on both the recruiter and the job. Conduct research online to see if you can find out any info on the recruiter/hiring manager to determine if they are indeed a real person. You should be able to find an online trail verifying the person, and, if not, you may want to reconsider moving forward with the job process.
Place of employment has a profound effect on the salary that an English teacher earns, as jobs associated with higher education tend to pay more. However, unlike other teaching professions, top-paying employment opportunities for postsecondary English teachers are not found at colleges, universities and professional schools, but instead at junior colleges, where professors earned an annual mean wage of $69,110 compared to the $68,580 earned at colleges and universities in 2014.
I have been teaching high school physics and general science for 11 years in Wilton, Simsbury, and now Redding. I also have experience tutoring students in chemistry, geometry, and pre-calculus. I love teaching high school and tutoring with me is often a combination of focused conversation and guided practice. I also focus on representing science and math visually, instead of just crunching through equations. Whether you have fallen behind in your class, or just want an edge keeping up, you can rely on my high school teaching experience to guide you through your science course. ... View Profile
How to Get It: Begin with sites like UserTesting.com, YouEye.com and Userlytics.com. Register with multiple companies for opportunities to test as many websites as possible. Once you're in the system, you'll be emailed when testers are needed, and if you're one of the first to respond, expect to spend 15 to 20 minutes completing the test. Many sites require a microphone and/or webcam, which are built into most laptops—but if you need to buy one, they aren't expensive. The tester sites typically pay within a week or two via PayPal.
Try to identify subjects, assignments, and tests that will require a tutoring session as early as possible. As the semester goes on, tutors get busier and their schedules get harder to coordinate. The best online services will still be able to find you a tutor on-demand, but there is no guarantee that your preferred tutor will be available if you wait until the last minute to book an appointment.
I have an M.S. in computational organic chemistry from Oregon State University and I’m an alumnus of UMass Amherst. I’m a published author with over six years of teaching and tutoring experience. Organic chemistry is unique in the way that first principles build on each other throughout the course. I am an expert at breaking chemistry down into fundamental concepts so that students I work with can spend less time memorizing, and more time understanding. Nobody can make organic chemistry “easy” or provide a magic bullet to get you an “A” but I can equip you with the tools to make it possible. I’ve helped hundreds of students over the years. Here are a couple of nice things people have written about me:
I forgot to also share that I will be starting work with On Point as an Advocacy Coordinator too. It sounds like a great job that helps our fellow Americans keep informed about political issues. On Point is the voice of the average citizens that may have an opinion to share with their politicians but have no way of knowing how to contact them. On Point makes sure those voices get heard. In orientation the trainer said she will be hiring agents again around the middle of June. If you have good writing skills and are a good conversationalist then you may want to check it out. It also seems like if you put forth a little effort, you can make decent wages with them and they do pay weekly. I’m not big into politics but excited about this new venture.
Take your school career seriously! From the freshman year onward, work hard to become the best reader and writer that you can be. Take advantage of every opportunity to challenge yourself as a learner, take AP classes if available, take online or blended learning classes if available. Use summers to get ahead on your reading and check for the required reading list for all college-bound students. Visit teachers' rooms to see different teaching styles, and remember the great and not so great teachers you have had. You will remember behaviors you want to emulate and those you want to avoid.
Certain states may also demonstrate a greater need to hire English teachers than other locations – at any given time. Yearly reports providing a nationwide listing of teacher shortages by state are released by the U.S. Department of Education. The following states were noted for experiencing a need to hire English teachers at elementary, middle and high schools for the 2015/2016 academic year: Alaska (English/Language Arts), California (English/Drama/Humanities), Hawaii (English/Reading), Idaho (English for grades 6 -12), and Kentucky (English at the middle school and secondary level).
This author has obviously done a few courses, but since the lack of editing reads like a first draft, this book was difficult to read. I read over half of the book before I could not take the constant affiliate links to his "how to" program, but when there were a dozen type o's in a row, I quit reading. Phil, I am sorry for my candor. I hope you edited your videos better than you edited your book. You could have had a really great book here, instead you have what seems like a half baked marketing tool to gain organic traffic to your courses so you can achieve a higher commission. (Instructors get higher commission for bringing in their own students - which is why he has a link to his course on every page)
Most degree and certificate programs that lead to state teacher certification include student teaching experience, which can be of great help to beginning teachers honing their classroom management skills. Patience, flexibility, and creativity in designing instructional activities are sought-after skills for schools looking to hire English teachers.

This online teaching service connects students to tutors from computers in their local library, community center, school, after-school program, or from home. To become certified as an online tutor, you must have a degree from or be enrolled in a U.S. or Canadian college, then you must pass a test in your area of specialty and submit a writing sample. The process takes 1–3 weeks. Pay is based on the subject tutored and the number of hours tutored.
