A note on tenure: For postsecondary teachers, a significant goal in the traditional academic career is attaining tenure — a guarantee that a professor cannot be fired without just cause. The tenure process can take up to seven years of moving up the ranks in tenure-track positions. The ranks are assistant professor, associate professor, and professor. Tenure is granted through a review of the candidate’s research, contribution to the institution, and teaching abilities. However, institutions are relying more heavily on limited-term and part-time faculty contracts.

With surprise news of successful advance-ticket sales of beyond $18,000 for Jason's atypical play, the headmaster is reluctant to miss out on the much-needed cash injection. He backtracks and persuades Linda to return and resume directing duties so the play may go on. However, there still remains another slight bone of contention. The school heads require a new ending for the play as they refuse to sanction the current one which they deem to be overly violent. They fear the parents will be outraged by its dark themes of murder and suicide. When Jason feels betrayed and refuses to rewrite the play's ending, Linda is forced to come up with a suitable replacement herself, lest the entire play is a failure. After much soul searching, she manages to write an improved ending which Jason comes around to accepting when he realises the play will be a roaring success.
...strive to do that for all of my students. I am also very patient and persistent. I put a great effort into explaining concepts until they are well understood. My method is basically dependent upon breaking down a concept into several smaller ideas. Some students might feel devastated or hopeless when it comes to a particular subject, so, I try to enhance their morale and attitude, giving them hope of improvement over the course of...
I am a retired biology professional With a Ph.D. in biology from the University of Virginia, did a postdoctoral at Yale University and continued research at The University of Chicago. I have taught throughout this period, including general biology, cell biology and medical school. When I retired I wanted to continue teaching the subject I love. So I started tutoring (now for seven years) the subject in my neighborhood and in several schools in the northern D.C. metropolitan area including: Connelly School of the Holy Child, Georgetown Visitation, Gonzaga, St. John’s College High School, Landon, The Potomac School, Walt Whitma ... My students do well! I am a chemical engineer. I know math and science well. I have tutored students after work for 12 years. I know students well. I work with a student to find the knowledge holes that cause problems. I explain the missing concept and then explain it again from a second angle. I work through the problem with the student and watch him do it again. When we find and correct holes in the student's knowledge base, he is caught up and ready to excel in his class. He often finds that he doesn't need a tutor any more -- not great for my business model, but definitely my goal. ... View Profile
Postsecondary teachers have more flexibility over the format of their instructional methods than their K-12 counterparts. They also have greater control over their schedules, with many postsecondary instructors teaching part time, as well as full time. They have fewer classroom management and procedural responsibilities than grade-school teachers but are expected to devote significant time to preparing lectures and instructions for assignments, in addition to evaluating and providing individual guidance to students when necessary.
We wanted my daughter to enjoy learning chemistry and to think of her career in chemistry or chemistry-related area. In her first semester of chemistry class, she was doing well and she had confidence in her chemistry. But my daughter was having difficulties in her 2nd semester chemistry class. We could see that she was losing interest in chemistry and about to give it up. We wanted to find someone who can help her re-ignite her interest in chemistry.
Every child has an Education Manager who manages tutoring to suit the child’s needs, and maintains a relationship with the parents. This Manager also supervises the child’s teacher(s) to ensure tutoring effectiveness.Over and above this, Growing Stars has a Quality Control Department managed by Senior Education Directors who step in to settle academic issues giving necessary directions to our teachers, thereby ensuring the highest quality of online tutoring.
Some students decide to teach after they have already completed their bachelor’s degree in English or a related field. In this case, an alternative route to teaching certification may be a good fit. Many universities also offer master’s in education degree programs designed for prospective teachers. Regardless of which road is taken, the student must also pass a series of state tests to earn teacher certification. At least one semester of student teaching is required in most states, and some universities require one to three semesters of observations in a classroom.

I am currently pursuing a Ph. D. in Organic Chemistry, and I have completed a B. S. in Medicinal-Pharmaceutical Chemistry with a GPA of 3. 7. I've taught 4 laboratory classes ranging from General Chemistry Lab to Advanced Biochem/Organic Lab. I have also been a supplemental instruction leader for a General Chemistry course, and a teaching assistant for Organic Chemistry I. I have had experience in instructional design, instructional videos, group learning, as well as individual teaching. I have helped individual students struggling with General Chemistry and Organic Chemistry succeed in their classes through individual and small-group tutoring sessions. I have a passion for helping students learn through organized instruction, and would love to hear from you!
I am currently a junior at LSUS majoring in Cellular and Molecular Biology. I became interested in tutoring last year, while attending Supplemental Instruction sessions. I was very intrigued with the processes that the tutors used, and I wanted to help others the way they helped me, so I became a tutor in the spring of 2018. In my short time at the SSC, I have found that tutoring not only helps the tutees but also the tutor, as it continuously refreshes the mind with previously learned concepts. Tutoring has helped me get closer to obtaining my dreams of attending medical school, and for that, I am grateful.
